2006 - 2007 Academic Sponsorship Timeline

Thank you for agreeing to sponsor a student during our 2006-2007 scholarship drive for the kids of Agua Verde, Sinaloa, Mexico. As I mentioned at our September fundraising dinner, a donation of $200 pays for a full school year for one child. This includes tuition, uniforms, shoes and school supplies. Our goal, once we get these kids into the program, is to continue to sponsor them each year, until they finish their education. We hope you will continue to support us in this goal.

The following is the timeline for this year’s scholarship awards.



December 2006

We start preparing for the comming scholarship cycle.

February 2007

We drop off scholarship applications and discuss acceptance criteria with the teachers

April 2007

Completed applications are due back to us for initial evaluation

April 2007

Qualified student's names, grades and request letters are presented to the potential sponsors so you have an opportunity to select the student you want to sponsor.

Confirmation of your intention to sponsor a student is requested

April 2007

Students already in the program will be reviewed and their existing sponsors contacted for another year of sponsorship

July 1 2007

Scholarship donations are due

Mid July 2007

Students selected and funded are notified

August 2007

We travel to Mexico to complete the qualifications and award the scholarships

September 2007

Scholarship sponsors are presented with the student's photo after receiving their scholarship and school supplies
